Luxfer Magtech offers a range of inert gas atomized Elektron® MAP+ powders for use across a broad spectrum of additive manufacturing technologies, including selective laser sintering, direct metal laser sintering, electron beam melting, direct metal deposition, laser engineered net shapes, and cold spray deposition. We also produce inert gas atomized Elektron® MAP powders that can be consolidated via a variety of traditional powder metallurgy (PM) techniques, including powder forging, powder extrusion, hot isostatic pressing (HIP), cold isostatic pressing (CIP), and equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE).
We work with our customers and partners to provide ground magnesium alloy powders for similar applications, pure magnesium and alloy powders as blending additives for PM processes, and customized metal powder products with controlled particle size distributions and morphology.
Elektron® MAP+21 is a high-performance, gas-atomized, magnesium-alloy powder based on a rare-earth containing magnesium casting alloy, Elektron® 21 (ASTM: EV31A).
Elektron® MAP+43 is a high-performance, gas-atomized, magnesium-alloy powder based on a rare-earth containing wrought magnesium alloy, Elektron® 43 (ASTM: WE43C).
Elektron® MAP+91 is a gas-atomized, magnesium-alloy powder based on a standard magnesium casting alloy, Elektron® AZ91 (ASTM: AZ91E).
