M9 Chemical Detection paper is a coated tape with a mylar-adhesive backing making it easy to attach to objects.
Simply tear off a section of M9 paper and attach it to protective clothing (usually in the upper arm, wrist or ankle areas) or designated surface. A moisture-proof, re-sealable bag is included with each roll for storage after opening. Packed in handheld cardboard dispenser with serrated edge – it’s easy to tear off what you need, when you need it and the self-adhesive paper attaches to most surfaces.
M9 paper contains a suspension of an agent-sensitive indicator dye on the paper. The dye will turn pink, red, reddish-brown or red-purple when exposed to liquid nerve or blister agent.
Protective gloves must be worn when handling M9 paper.
Note: M9 can detect agents, but does not identify which agents are present and does not detect agents in vapors. False positive readings may occur when used on hot, dirty, oily, greasy surfaces, petroleum products or DS2.
